It will also include how to make rock flower pots that allow flowering aquatic plants to take nutrients out of the water to compete with algae. The speaker is Jeff Rugg who will be familiar to long time MPKS members. He has taught hands on pond building classes in more than 20 states. DESCRIPTION:Chicago Flower and Garden Show Tour \n The theme of the Chicago Flower and Garden show this year “Flowertales – the story grows on”. The show runs from March 21st through March 24th at Navy Pier. \nMPKS members have an opportunity on Saturday March 23rd for a behind the scenes tour of the Chicago Flower Show. The tour starts at 9:00 AM before the show is open to the public. A tour guide walks us through the exhibits explaining their highlights and lasts about 1 to 1-1/2 hours.  After the tour you are free to roam the show. A Flower Show ticket is required for the tour. \nWe will be purchasing group tickets. The ticket cost is $14.00 per person. The tickets will only be good with the group on March 23rd. \nPlease RSVP to Charlene by March 17th by email charlene@mpks.org or phone (312) 409-2081. Your RSVP will be confirmed.

DESCRIPTION:Summer Gala Dinner \nJoin us Saturday\, June 23rd for our summer club dinner celebration of our ponds\, our koi fish\, and the Koi and Trade Show. \nThe evening program will include a lifetime member award presentation\, a short Koi Show awards presentation and an enjoyable evening of koi talk and fun. \nThe dinner will be held at Buca Di Beppo\, 90 Yorktown Mall Drive\, Lombard IL. (The corner of Butterfield and Highland Ave.) \nThe cash bar opens at 7:00 PM followed by a Family Style Italian Dinner at 7:30 PM. The dinner cost is $42.00 per person. Please RSVP by June 15th with your name and number of attendees for dinner.
